About
I am influenced by my natural surroundings and work in ceramics for tactile seduction. The often-overlooked details of trees are a starting point in developing pieces that possess a curious ambiguity, for the existence of landscape is predicated on either humankind’s appreciation or manipulation of the natural world. I am specifically interested in using sculpture and installation to reflect and react to how I see the similitude between nature and human beings.
My artwork is an attempt to create a meaningful connection between the natural world and human beings, a connection that often seems fleeting. It is based on observation and the physical act of working with material such as clay and fabric. This physical relationship also allows me to explore my spiritual, emotional and psychological concerns for the human experience.
